What is Leadership?

At the recent AIA Leadership Conference at Convention in Los Angeles, one participant said the word leader makes him think of John Wayne in a character larger than life; yet in reality, leadership and being a leader are more subtle, and may involve wearing more than one hat.

Think about your job, your community and when leadership matters. At those moments how do you lead?
How do you inspire yourself or others to assume more responsibility for leading?
How can you use your professional skills in leadership roles to successfully solve challenges in your community?
What can you do to develop your skills to increase your ability as a leader and to add value to your community, your life and your firm?
If these questions matter, you have made a decision to be a leader. We want to hear from you.
