Marshall Craft Associates

Marshall Craft Associates, Inc. was established in 1986 to provide architectural and planning services to clients in the Mid-Atlantic region. The firm is guided by principals who combine their talents to lead a staff of professionals experienced in all facets of architecture, planning, interior design, and facilities management assistance. The principals have created the firm’s diversified practice, providing services for healthcare, corporate, institutional, industrial, educational, and governmental clients.

Marshall Craft Associates’ Education and Training (E&T) Program demonstrates the firm’s commitment to continuous improvement. The firm’s twelve-member Education & Training Committee, which is composed of principals, architects, an interior designer, a specification writer, architectural interns, and members of the marketing department, brings a diversity of perspectives and backgrounds to the education planning process. After conducting an annual survey of all employees to determine their top educational priorities and interests, the Committee plans a multi-faceted program designed to meet the needs of the entire staff. In a typical year, MCA provides its staff with more than thirty learning opportunities including a wide range of topics and delivery methods. The firm also funds employee attendance at other conferences and seminars.

The E&T Committee meets monthly to plan and review seminars, discuss staff feedback, and assess how well the program is meeting its goals. As a result the Committee can respond quickly to evolving opportunities and needs.

MCA’s philosophy mandates Doing the Right Thing – Well and the firm’s education and training program provides the tools and information that make this goal possible. Architects have the opportunity to earn the required LUs during regular work hours, with compensation. They are also invited to participate in the selection and coordination of educational topics and to enhance their management and public speaking skills by leading seminars in their individual areas of expertise. The Education and Training Program helps MCA improve overall efficiency and accuracy in the delivery of services. As a result, MCA’s clients benefit from creative solutions to their design challenges, and the improved operations that result.
