AIA Associates Award

The AIA Associates Award is the highest award given to individual associate AIA members who best exemplify the highest qualities of leadership and have demonstrated an unparalleled commitment to their component or region's membership, in the community, in professional organizations, and/or in the design and construction industries.

2009 InstituteHonors for Professional Achievement Online Submission

Submissions

All submissions will be made online.  Each submission shall contain the following information:

  • Complete AIA Associates Award application
  • A one-page nomination letter or statement by any component, member of the national AIA Board of Directors, knowledge community, or College of Fellows
  • A biography or resume of the candidate, not to exceed two pages; a statement of contributions should be included in the biography;
  • Exhibits, not to exceed 10 pages, in support of the nominee that best demonstrate the outstanding accomplishments
  • A maximum of five one-page letters of support by those who know the quality of the nominee's work or service; letters should be explicit in their recommendation and contain specific reasons for support
  • A portrait of the nominee

Eligibility

Associate members of the AIA who are not licensed to practice architecture by the submission deadline are eligible to be nominated. Any component, member of the national AIA Board of Directors, knowledge community, or College of Fellows may nominate one or more individuals.
